    Hi Folks,

I've pulled out a dishwasher that was broken and am putting a condenser dryer. After pulling out the dishwasher, and disconnecting the water supply - it seems the valve is leaking in the "closed" position. Fairly badly actually... so I've shut the water off to that pipe with a valve further along the line, but this has also killed the water to the kitchen sink and washing machine as well, so I need to get it switched on again ASAP. Given that I dont need a water supply for the condenser dryer, I just want to close off this leaking valve. What do I need to screw on to the top of this to stop the leak and permanently stop it. Pic attached. Presume it can be bought in B&Q or some place.

TLDR, what do I need to screw onto this valve to stop the water coming out, permanently.

easiest thing to do is loosen bottom nut on washing macine valve,[use 2 adjustable spanners, one to hold valve other to loosen nut],take valve off and get a half inch compression blank cap,put it on pipe where valve was and use existing nut to tighten into it. job done! u could get blank for washing machine valve but as the valve is passing the irst option would be better

gdavis - youre a fcuking genius. Swapped the washing machine onto the leaking valve and just closed the valve where the washing machine was (thankfully that one didnt leak!). Dunno why I didnt think of that.

Pat- thanks for that. Will keep an eye out for a compression stop end during the week, but for now, we have our water and washing machine back in action, and no sign of a leak - yet ;)

    Cheers
    Muppet Man.
