I have a sky+ box and satellite dish. I would like a freeview tv for the bedroom. Do I need to have a second satellite dish or can I run them both off the sky one?

Freeview is the UK terrestrial service via a standard aerial if within range of a UK transmitter.

    The satellite equivalent is Freesat.

The Freesat box can be connected to the Sky dish no problem, you simply require a spare output on the LNB mounted on the dish arm and the cabling from it to the Freesat box. A Freesat+ PVR version requires 2 feeds from the dish.

List of Freesat receivers here - http://www.freesat.co.uk/get-freesat/recommended/freesat-plus
List of Freesat TVs here - http://www.freesat.co.uk/get-freesat/recommended/freesat-hd-tvs

The Irish channels aren't available free from satellite so you'll require a separate aerial feed to the TV for Saorview.

Thanks Cush. Didn't realise freeview was uk based. I meant the normal free satellite box. Yes saorview. Thanks. For the info. I'll need to get someone to do it as far too confusing for me.

Freeview is the UK equivalent of Saorview with an aerial.

Know what you want before you get someone in, do your research first.

On the bedroom TV do you want the Irish Saorview channels, the UK Freesat channels or both?

I have sky multiroom, one box in the sitting room and another in the kids playroom. If I were to opt for a freesat box in a bedroom would my dish be able for all three?

Yes, a basic Fresat zapper box requires one spare output on the dish and a Freesat+ recorder 2 spare outputs. 4 and 8 output LNBs are available if you have insufficient spare atm.

You could run a coax cable ,to the bedroom, from the front room sky box, with a magic eye unit,
this allows you to watch the channels, change the channel ,
Magic eye unit is 25 euro.
sky multiroom allows you to connect a 2nd box,
and watch different channels ,from box 1,
on box2, for around 5 euro per month,
IF you have a phone line connected to box 2.
ANY Old sky reciever gives you freeview channels,
    uk menu,epg,
GET an old sky hd box ,ie you,ll get some free hd channels on it ,
    around 40 euro on adverts,ie

something like this will give a signal to 3 or 4 sky recievers.

It will give a signal to 4 satellite tuners of any kind, be they in 4 single-tuner receivers, 2 twins or a mixture of both. That's what it will do.
