Galaxy s4 on 4.3 root help please

Hi could 1 of you nice people please tell me what is the best way to root my galaxy and what is the best rom to put on it I get bad lag when sending texts and and generally using the phone . Is there a step by step guide out there on the interweb that I can use .

I don't own a S4 so I can't help you but I do know that if you go on http://forum.xda-developers.com/ and on the s4 forums you can read guides on how to do it. I have had a few android phones now and alway learnt how to do it from forums on xda.
