    Hi,
The €100k guarantee only relates to banking groups or more accurately, banking licenses, not necessarily per bank.

So is there a list of Irish Bank Trading Names and Bank Deposit taking Licence they trade under?

For example (this not a true case, just for example): PTSB and BoI have different trading names but trade under the same license: thus only the sum of €100k in these banks will be covered - not €100k per bank.

This is vitally important to know to safeguard savings. I found a list of UK banks easily enough but the Irish ones seem a lot harder to track down!

    Thanks in advance.

    1. EBS
    2. AIB (separate license) (includes Anglo acquired deposits)
    3. BoI.
    4. ICS (ICS might close this year).
    5. PTSB (includes Northern Rock and INBS acquired deposits)
    6. KBC (includes former IBB deposits).
    7. Ulster Bank (includes former First Active deposits).
    8. RaboBank (trades as RaboDirect).
    9. Leeds Building Society Ireland.
    10. Investec.
    11. Nationwide UK Ireland.
    • There are 11 retail deposit takers in Ireland with segregated licenses as per the above. However, technically speaking ACCBank and Danske still have a license as well.
    • There are 9 retail banks operating in Ireland. BoI own ICS. AIB own EBS.
    • There are several other banks that take corporate deposits only.
    • The NTMA take 'deposits' via investments in Irish sovereign debt.
