The Auld lad's after getting a new phone, and is having great craic transferring the contact across. The phone syncs fine' can make a receive calls, but the contaxt s will sometimes transfer, sometimes not.

Anybody have any experience of this, and be able to offer a solution.

As always, all help and advice is greatly appreciated.

No idea what Audi MMI is, but I guess it relies on the contacts being saved to a Google account? https://www.google.com/contacts/

It's the Multi Media Interface (radio, sat nav, Bluetooth etc.)

I have them synced to his google account, but it's still not syncing correctly.

What seems to happen is that it will eventually transfer the contacts, after 15-20 minutes, but not keep them stored in the car.

Personally reckon the software on the MMI needs an update, but was just curious.

I have a galaxy s4 which is paired to my mmi and the contacts sync each time the phone is connected. If she's driving her phone contacts are synced with the car. Im not sure if they can be permanently synced, I'm happy enough with my setup. Takes 2 minutes or so to sync up each time I get into the car

Mal, contacts are on the phone.

Heather, they will now transfer, but after about 20 minutes or so. And then, it appears to lose "them" again, an have to go through another transfer.

It's all a bit strange. First time I've seen something like this happen when pairing a phone and car kit.

I thought they might be on the sim so you would need a rsap app on your phone. They obviously sync every time so like the parrot kit.

My Passat CC uses the same system as Audi and I have 3 different phones paired with it. A Samsung Galaxy (android), a Blackberry and a Nokia (Windows 8 phone), all 3 phones have no issues and the contacts copy and sync no problem.

Cheers Bazz. Was only thinking it might make some sense to see if here are any issues syncing contact with my own Parrot kit.

I think it's got something to do with vanilla Android. I've had problems with a Nexus 4 and 5 with my car but none whatsoever with a HTC One, Note 3 or BlackBerry Q10. I think a Moto G is similar enough to the Nexus devices so there may be something there. I was missing contacts, call logs and the steering wheel controls didn't work but I have found that if I unlock the phone (using the Nexus 5) after it connects to the car it works away fine then.

It's annoying but might be worth a try to see if it makes any difference.

Give it a few minutes and it will ask you for access to the phone too. Click the tick box for don't ask again.

In my experience the Audi bluetooth setup is hit and miss re transferring contacts.
In the past, I had zero contacts, all contacts and intermittant contacts depending on phone Ive had over the last number of years.
