What is it with people going to parties these days?

Back in my younger days, I used to go to parties after a night out, get even more drunk, try to get the shift, then head home.

Now every week we are hearing of people getting stabbed to death at them?

Why can't the young 'uns just get along these days?

I think kids today are angels compared to the shenanigans they used to get up to.

My mam & dad were on a bank holiday weekend in Brighton in '65 pushing yours truly down the promenade in my pram when the mods & rockers kicked off...

Must of had an effect on me because I've been a greasy biker with a penchant for all things rock ever since :D

If anyone is wondering whether the young people of today are all scumbags with no imagination, I urge them to listen to the radio reports of our brightest and best at the Young Scientist of the Year exhibition in the RDS.

Most of their so-called "experiments" had no control group, an obvious confirmation-bias, and a weak understanding of Popper's theory of falsifiability.

    Doomed, we are....doomed.

It's no different from when I was a young lad, I remember being stabbed to death at parties all the time. No need to blow things out of proportion.

This is why I always carry my spoon on a night out, just in case.

In case of what? An impromptu game of knifey spoony breaks out?

Can't bate media hysteria. It's bang on though, sure at the last party i threw a bunch of people took a pill and only four of them survived, been flat out lately with all the funerals. Those four that survived are living on the streets in thailand now selling themselves because of their addiction to the skunk weed they had as well. Shocking stuff.

They are fights/stabbings at house parties that sometime result in death. This rarely happens tough. I also think you pay more attention to the news the older you get.

KNOW YOUR DOPE FIEND. YOUR LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT! You will not be able to see his eyes because of the Tea-Shades, but his knuckles will be white from inner tension and his pants will be crusted with semen from constantly jacking off when he can't find a rape victim.

It's always happened though over the years. Sometimes scumbags gatecrash or someone ends up at a party with dodgy people there. Unfortunate situations do regrettably arise every now and then and everyone hears about it. 90% of the time it's not the case but if you're putting a bunch of hammered people in a small place and some scumbaggy people are there, **** will happen every now and then.

OK then, but I don't ever remember seeing a knife at a party (except for the kitchen knife drawer of course). No-one ever brought one for the purpose of defence.

I went to a party once

knifes are always at close proximity in houses

so its a good idea to lock up all sharp objects before a house party, just in case

The thing is that there is always someone arrested and charged within hours of one of these party stabbings.....so what is the mindset here?
    Don't get it .

I don't throw house parties because I don't want blood on my carpet. Thought about getting wooden floors instead but I think blood stains that too. I don't think a stain would do much for property value either.

Where is Duncan Stewart when you need him?

I agree i just don't remember the number of deaths and stabbings at parties. There is a wannabe gangster culture these days where people think they are something and shouldn't ever be disrespected innit bruv.

Man fatally stabbed in row over chess match.

Over a chess match? Ah c'mon now, this is just ridiculous.

If you are going to commit a serious crime then do one that you have a chance of getting away with.
I know that these stabbings tend to be drunken affairs and heat of the moment and all that.....but having been in a few drunken fights over the years- stabbing or trying to kill someone never came in to it for many reasons.

So the perprators must be very stupid to commit a crime that is so serious and for which they will almost certainly do time.

I went to a party last night and fell asleep well before every one else did. I woke up this morning with a picture of a cőck drawn on my cheek, a drawn on pair of glasses and the word dīck on my forehead. The lads thought it was eyeliner or something. It's permanent marker. I've been scrubbing for hours. :-(

Feck yer parties, I'll stay at home.

Yeah its getting out of hand now.

A quote from the news article is like something you would see in a comedy sketch show. Would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Detectives believe the murder, which they have described as gruesome, is linked to a dispute over the movement of a piece on a chessboard

Its time the whole of society took a chill pill, people killing others now for sweet feck all. These people going to parties must think they are in an episode of Love Hate.
