    At a basic level:

    1. http://connect.garmin.com
    2. Create a new course
    3. Plug your device into your computer
    4. "Send to device"

    In mapmyride, do the following:
    1. Create your course
    2. Save it as a TCX file
    3. Plug in your Garmin and open up a folder called 'New files" (I think this is the name)
    4. Drag your saved TCX file into the 'New Files' folder
    5. Switch on the Garmin and navigate to 'Courses'
    The course should appear here
With Garmin Connect , you can just upload directly to your Garmin, but if you already have a course created in mapmyride, this will save a bit of time.

Since bikeroutetoaster has given up the ghost, I've had to do a run though the usual websites for planning routes. The two best I've found are
    1. BikeHike
    2. Garmin Connect

Garmin connect always pushing you to upgrade your version of Communicator. BikeHike just works. No fuss.

I created a course for the first time yesterday and saved it to my Garmin 500. I did the route this afternoon (105km). When I arrived home I stopped the Garmin as normal, reset it and turned it off. Later, when I went to upload the ride, it said "no new activities". :(

    Where did I go wrong?
