    hi guys

looking a bit of advice regarding my 02 ford ka. it has the endura e engine. i dont know the first thing about engines and wanted to know does this car have a timing belt or a timing chain?

reason i ask is i was looking to sell it but a buyer has said her boyfriend is a mechanic and that the timing belt needs to be replaced.

can anyone clarify if this is indeed the case?

He's not a fantastic mechanic, as they're all timing chain :p

Call his bluff, tell him the belt was just done 3,000 miles ago, and look puzzled :D

The Endura E is the final incarnation of the old Kent Crossflow/Valencia, and is a pushrod design. This means the camshaft is down towards the bottom, near the crank, and it's driven by a short chain.
