Anyone know how much are those 8x4 green plastic slats and where would you buy them?
What the opinion on slats? Is it better to go for plastic ?

    Hi,

There is a crowd in leitrim that do them and they seem to be fairly good value,,

The plastic wont rot or rust, obviously but also very easy to handle and they wash off well

Converted a cattle shed last year last year to sheep slats. Priced that crowd and o donovan engineering and they were about the same price for them plastic slats and i thought they were to dear tbh. Ended up going for timber slats as have them in the rest of the sheds. If ya do go for timber make sure its douglas fir that their made of and they should be good for 8+ years.

What sort of money per bay (15ft X10ft) would it be for timber vs plastic....a ball park figure is all I want

i think the plastic slats were 80 euro a square meter, that figure could be well of but its its sticking in my head for some reason. Regarding the timber slats i honestly cant remember but give mchales sawmill in sligo a ring and they will put ya right.
