    A little bit of history about myself;
    I’m a 32 year old male living and working in Dublin with the last 7 years. Over the years mainly 2007 – 2010 I have ran/plodded through several marathons. I really enjoyed running but unfortunately since 2010 I have been able to do little or no running.
    A little over 3 years ago I started getting tinnitus in my left ear, and then as night follows day I would get dizzy and start vomiting. At the start this happened every couple of months and lasted maybe a day, max 2 days. GP/Specialists said I probably had Meniers Disease (Meniers is a condition of the inner ear and causes balance issues). Best way to explaine it is; you know the feeling when you have had too much to drink and go to bed and when you close your eyes and the room starts spinning and you feel like vomiting....thats kinda what it feels like. I did every sort of test/scan and all anyone would say is ‘You probably have Menieres Disease’. Last year it came to head and I had these symptoms constantly. After 20 weeks off work and my GP hounding specialists to see me I was eventually diagnosed and treated for Meniers Disease. Apparently Meniers can’t be diagnosed until post mortem so that’s why no one would confirm that this is what I had but a specialist finally said that he was 99% sure this is what I had and treated it. Thankfully since the end of October I haven’t had any symptoms. I got the go ahead again to go jogging last November but through a bit or nervousness/laziness I am only doing something now.
    The plan is to get back running again and see where it takes me. I was never the world’s fastest runner, my PB for Marathon is 3:57 but I enjoyed it. I don’t know if I will ever be able to run a marathon again but for now I am more than happy to just run. Over the last 3 years I have put on 2 and a half stone so first thing is to shed some of this weight
    Even though I wasn’t able to run I would be constantly on boards reading peoples training logs, especially marathon related threads. So as a form of motivation I have decided to start my own log.
    So this evening the plan is to go for a 2 mile jog....here goes J

    I went for a 2 mile jog yesterday evening. Averaged @11:03/mile. No reaction with the balance so touch wood it will stay that way. Delighted to be back jogging/plodding:)
