Howdy, thinking of giving mountain biking a go and I'm looking for a bit if advice on what type to get. I seen a giant talon 2.5 (2011) model within my budget on done deal that seems ok. Not looking for anything too fancy, hard tail preferably. The one I see has disk breaks as opposed to hydrolic breaks. Just curious as to what fellow boardsies would recommend as a decent starter bike

If you are just thinking of trying it out, Balinsatoe and Ballyhoura have bike rentals. One is Cork/Limerick the other Wicklow. If you are close to either that is.

Maybe that would be the best place to start, if you like it, buy a bike.
