Yep, I bought one of them recently, but ran the Amazon price past Flubit and they came back to me with an offer for £70.62 (admittedly I had to use ParcelMotel, thus adding £3/€3.50 to the cost).

Grand quiet yoke, and I like that it powers off with the computer (my old Seagate didn't).

Bought a Seagate from Amazon before Xmas but had to return it because it was so noisy. I'm hoping this is as quiet as you say...

You can play media off them through your tv if your tv has a usb input and inbuilt media player function, yes. Same goes for the recording, if your tv supports it, then I can't see why not, it should also work.

Yup it's very quite. Have it sitting beside me right now and the HDD's in my PC are making more noise than the 3TB external one. Even with writing to it. I copied over 1.5TB to it using USB 3.0 and speeds were pretty consistent and the HDD remained quite.

What sort of speeds are you getting?

With USB 3.0 it jumps to over 100Mb at first but then slows down to about 80 I think it was and stays steady at that even with 500gb transfers.
