Channels from which satellites are available in Ireland

    Hi Guys,
I am planning to install a satellite dish system with 1.1 mtr motorised dish. I would like to know channels from which satellites would be available to me.

Would all the channels listed here are available (73°E-0°E) - http://www.lyngsat.com/tracker/europe.html

Also any Atlantic (0°W-61°W) or Asian (160°W-73°E)?

As a general rule of thumb 45W-46E. You'd need to be very high up to get anything beyond these points - even then it'll be not much extra.

Of course, within these parameters you won't get everything (4W, 7W and most of 4.8E). Other satellites too will have transponders unavailable to you.

45 West will beam in (just one channel though).
    30W will beam in.
There's nothing of note on 27W, 24.5W,22W or 18W but you'll get them.
    15W will beam in.
    12.5W will beam in.
11W you'll get just a couple of the channels.
    There's nothing on 8W.
    5W will beam in.
0.8W you won't get, or will struggle to get, many of the Scandanavian HD channels but others should come in (you will suffer rainfade on that dish-size).
3E, you'll get many of the transponders but not all.
4.8E you will pick up some transponders.
    7E will beam in.
    9E will beam in.
10E you'll get some of the transponders.
Hotbird, 16E and Astra 19.2E will beam in.
    21.6E you'll get some transponders.
    23.5E will beam in
You'll get just some transponders on 26E.
Astra at 28.2 will beam in.
    39E will beam in
You'll get roughly half of the transponders at 42E (the western beams only).
    45E will beam in.
46E just a couple of transponders but the channels might now be gone.

    I can't speak for points between 28.2 and 39E.

All of this assumes you're in Ireland and is just a guide (based on 1.2m dish).

    good info there radiowaves,

just to add i have recently fitted an Inverto lnb to my 1.1 mtr set-up and it has bumped up the signal considerably, now getting some of the Viasat weaker ones on 5 East (loc. N.E. Ireland)

Thanks for that information loughside. I might add I'm pulling in 4.8 on a wavefrontier. I only sent my 1.2 around to it a couple of times and got nothing extra so it might be worth trying again.

I've been tying with replacing the LNB for a while - some of the HDs on 0.8 are borderline (SD quality can be very good mind) and that's my favourite satellite.
