TG4's biggest offering, clashes with RTE's Tonight wed

Now, if your in multi-tv/internet download land, it doesn't matter.

so that leaves about 8% of Boardsies.

Still, two state TV companies obeying the laws of competitiveness, like good little stations.

    Bollix.

    .

To be fair I think most if not all fans of Sherlock would have watched it when RTE first showed it a year ago.

nothing fair about it. both shows attract the same demographic, and RTE knew that.

I'm a fan of competitiveness, but RTE are being cynical and silly here.

Do you not have a TV recording box or failing that a VCR?

TG4 and RTE are separate entities. They both get money from the licence fee but they don't consult each other over schedules.

Perhaps you could give all the stations a list of all the programmes you like to ensure they never schedule any of them at the same time. Then they could put all the programmes you don't like on when you've gone to bed or are at Mass.

It's been 2 years since Sherlock was on BBC and 1 year since RTE first showed it.

If they really wanted to spoil things they would have scheduled Elementary against Breaking Bad.

More likely that RTE scheduled Sherlock against Broadchurch actually.
