On done deal There's 90's m3 for 4k with some 80's ones making in the 20's

Is this an investment car/ 'small mile run around' or is a Porsche the way to go?

I have seen one that was in the UK for that big 20k but the car looked better then it would have from the factory.

I do believe it would be an investment car as they are like gold dust.

I think the price reflects how scarce they really are as most are at this stage rusted away or scrapped which is a shame.

Have you any links or pics?

Have a e30 which may not be able to be saved as she is riddled underneath:(

Doubt it, a e46 maybe but the e36 while being a decent car generally seem to have gotten a bad reputation for some reason

My money would be on a 900 Turbo. Good ones are silly money now. They will get even sillier in 10 years time.

Still a fair few of these around , most being bought now though are for breaking. A lot of their engines are ending up in e30's. An investment maybe but they won't hit big money for a few years yet. Be a nice car to have when they are eligible for vintage tax though.

Punisher5112 may i ask what year the one you have is?

i have an 83, 84 ,85 and 87 at the moment, would still be an easy enough car to sell if your planning on getting rid of it.

yep the e36 is aging nicely but the fact is you can pick up a e46 for cheap enough money these days and they are preferred by most .

The E36 M3 while a very good car doesn't really have the same cult status as the E30 M3.

You will do well to find a decent E36 M3 they are being snapped up for drifting.
Very cheap, reliable entry level drift car.

If you find one, keep it!

Lancia Delta Intergrale for me. A really good one should appreciate strongly, even though it has 5 doors.

The €4k ones on done deal will not be in the sort of condition to really appreciate in value. To maximise this you would need a perfect car both mechanically and cosmetically and this will cost you a lot of money. And if you were doing it I'm pretty certain there are better options out there.

17,000 E30 M3's built vs 71,000 E36 M3's. Says it all really. Really good E36's will be worth a few bob in the future but nowhere near what a E30 is getting these days.

Any cars that make serious money, be they M3's , Integrales, 900 turbo's are usually in almost perfect condition, you should go to a car show to see exacctly how well maintained they are. If you do decide to invest, get a perfect one, service it regularly, fit proper parts etc on to it, keep every receipt and you'll get a return on your money but don't expect to get rich off of it.

E46 CSL is the only post E30 M3 that I would think constitutes a serious investment. And I guess to a lesser extent the E46 CS.

    This.

They're just not rare enough to make E30 money.
