I paid €1800 for insurance on a 99 Nissan Micra with Boxymo.ie The only downfall is I can't do more than 3600 miles for the year but I can deal with that instead of paying another €1500 or more with other insurers. I'm 17 as well by the way.. Its fully comprehensive insurance too.

Pretty much this! Fwiw, OP, I've been with Aaran for ~6 years now and they've given me the cheapest quote every year. Stick with them and get your full license asap.

I was planning on doing more mileage but I'd rather a years no claims bonus at the end of the year and not be out of pocket by thousands.

Interesting product.... Would have saved me 3000 starting out. Very good idea rather than suffering the stigma of being 17 and having a huge premium!

    I paid 4400 starting out in 2004!
