If it has to be Limerick try Holmes O Malley and Sexton.

If your willing to go a little further try McGuire Desmond in Cork.

    Wouldn't go near either.

OP might be better placed with someone else.

Do you want to give brief details of the issue? Is it you? Is it your business? Litigious issue? Non contentious? What we talking?

    Correct.
Here's a very brief account of the situation.
Worker looses half of the hours that were previously had on contract for three consecutive years, exactly the year when permanency contract was due, following a a certain diagnosis ;)
This was almost 5 yrs ago.
Union proved to be of no use to date, perhaps misrepresenting the worker in question which to date is on the smallest number of hours out of all staff members and has been so for the past 5 years.
Highly qualified and professionally accomplished, of eastern european background..female, determined to regain her dignity .

Oh, and in need of a helpin hand.

I will second Dan the man.

Failing Dan, you could also try McMahon O'Brien, though if it was me, I'd go to Michael Houlihan and Partners in Ennis for what you describe there.

Holmes O'Malley are frying bigger fish, as are Colm MGuire and his buddies. Colm is actually a Limerick man. You'll get a good service with either, but they have a better appetite for institutional clients. They might not be interested in you to be honest.

You need a solicitor who has the same sense of urgency and drive that you do.

Speak with NERA also, and if you are short on cash, try civil aid.

    Best of luck.

Denis McMahon & Paul O Brien. Between the 2 of these guys they owe NAMA over €300 million and have string of judgements against them. The same McMahon offered a client €20,000 to drop a claim. These 2 are "consultants" for the above firm. You would be on the back foot immediately with this firm representing you.

Dan O Gorman is sound advice.

    Dear myshirt,
Your advice is much appreciated and thank you for putting my mind to rest.

    Ad interim, multas gratias

Make sure you get the consultancy free of charge. There may be a reason the unions could do nothing for you.

I'm not exactly sure where your case would be.

Let's not have this descend into a different discussion.

You've done a bit too much googling, trust me on that one.

McMahon O'Brien are a good practice.

Though yes, Dan, he's as straight as an arrow. Best of luck to op.

Hi, just wondering if you went with Dan & how you found him?

I need help too - employer said they were making me redundant & got me to sign a resignation letter on the spot with the promise of a decent lump sum which they said they would pay the following week. Now few months on I haven't been paid & they say I resigned & have the letter to prove it!!!

Have no job, can't believe how despicable they are being. So reckon I need a solicitor at this stage. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

Don't know how you may that out. This is record of the Court not mumbo jumbo from the internet.

Regarding being a good practice.... That's a matter of opinion.

I can't recommend a solicitor to you but if your income has taken a serious hit and you have dependents you might consider applying for Family Income Support from the department of Social Protection, you may not qualify but better off to ask anyway

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but looking for a solicitor with experience in employment law.

Already rang Dan O'Gorman, anyone else recommended?

I'd suggest Sweeney McGann. I found them straight and honest and easy to deal with.
