On my phone but the little 9-1 that is left on Chac du Cadran tomorrow at Catterick looks too big for the race he won last year.

Price dropping quicker than Jordan's knickers. He won this last year off a three pound lower mark, making all to win easily. A dour stayer, he hasn't been as good since but he did run a much better race than the result suggests in the Midlands' National at Uttoxeter next start off an 11lb higher mark, and fell on his seasonal comeback at Carlisle before pulling up at Haydock. That said the handicapper has given him a big chance and he is the only one of these to win over C&D and will relish heavy ground off a light weight of 139.

Would be surprised if a few of these won it, Diamond Harry is clearly well handicapped on old form but a gruelling race like this off top weight in bottomless ground doesn't strike me as something he wants, Sun Cloud did win last time out though it was a poor race and 10lbs more in a race like this could prevent the follow up. Merlin's Wish was impressive at Market Rasen but again a very poor race and is 21lbs higher than winning two runs back, but he is a thorough stayer and a big danger being so lightly raced but I thought this might be the plan for Chac du Cadran and the money may suggest it is.

Just had a look at that race, and wellforth is running again here, he just got touched off last time in a much better race in similar conditions (when i tipped win at 80/1:(). The extra trip wont be a problem , i don't know how he is 10/1..

Forgot to mention him Aidan thought he is a danger but hard to win with. Victor Chandler go 11s

I've dutched both. If wellforth ran like last day in a much stronger he should win tomorrow but this is coming very soon

I'll be backing this fella too.
Very impressive lto(unlucky btw!) and stayed on well. He ran in 2 chases in 4 days at Galway Festival 2012 winning at the 2nd attempt so I don't think this relatively quick turnaround for such a long race will be too much of an issue.

I think Green Wizzard is the live outsider here, 14/1 is massive.

V De Sivola in the second race at Catt should win easy if taken to fences. His form behind seventh sign is a class above the others in the race

Tipped Ma Filluele last time out, won at a canter. I reckon they're taking advantage of the crappy ground which the horse seems to love.

I dont think anyone mentioned Sun Cloud either. Which coincidentally when i had a look at the race last night was the one i was most interested in. But thought the price was on the skinny side so had no bet.:pac::pac:

**My apologies someone did mention him in the first few posts

Any chance a nag in the 7.45? ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭NaiveMelodies

    Same again I assume Urban?

Not sure if I agreed with the usual conspiracy theorists last week regarding the ride but did travel very well into race so fingers crossed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

When I say last chance tomorrow I mean it. This race much much weaker and Conor Keane taking off three could mean a big run is expected especially if well backed unlike the polar opposite last week

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭carpothepunk

I meant to post after the race but not sure I did, I knew he'd shown enough to suck you into backing him one more time haha. Absolute cliff horse.

Well hopefully there's a decent price about him again... fingers crossed!!

The old boy Barbecue Eddie looks a very generous price at 5.25 in Meydan tonight.
    16s best priced.
Picked this race up handily last year, has had his first run of the season in December, in which he was well fancied, broke poorly which done his chances of winning but finished strongly.

A few of the nicer types in the race are kicking off their Meydan campaigns tonight, and between the travelling and lack of fitness I'm hoping BBQ Eddie can catch them on the hop and win for the 10th time at Meydan.

    Decent each way bet.

Also think 'First Experience' is a nice price in Wolves 5.40. Nice enough type and well treated off 68 IMO. Fav is an obvious worry but don't see why this lad won't beat the rest of the field.

Apologies for the aftertime but great pick here. Only had a small one on it myself.

Small winner for me too, was well worth the 5 pound swing with Bon Part and as I felt only had the fav to beat. Glad I spotted him.

Another bad days racing,I backed two of Mccains today and both were under pressure after the first hurdle I cant ever catch one of his on a going day.

I'll never learn  went against my rules backing them two today, every yak tries to make the running and is burned out dont think maguire can hold a horse up.

granted they had some big stage success with Overturn and Peddlers Cross, but for the money Leslie has thrown at McCain, its a brutal return.
Buy an overhyped handicapper or pt to pt winner for ridiculous money, run them around gaff tracks like Kelso and Sedgefield, make the running, borderline overuse of the whip every ride - its tragic to watch really
