I would highly recommend this book to everyone here as it expounds on the core of what Religion and piety are in essence.

If people can support the rubbishing of very basic things that come to us through Abraham (the ban of incinerating dead bodies, the ban of certain sexual practices and the ban on tattooing to name but three) without feeling any sense of dread and trembling sinews it can only be because they have lost any experience however faint of the very fundamental datum of Religion that proceeds all dogmatic formulations, liturgical practices, etc, etc.

If Christianity is to be revived in Ireland than it is this basic sense of the Livingness, Might and Mystery of God that must be communicated before all else.
