How much to replace a hot water cylinder?

Hi, I have to get my hot water cylinder replaced, there are some pipes that have to be blanked off in order to change the cylinder, but the prices I've been quoted sound way to steep to me. Generally how much should replacing a cylinder cost? Thanks

Depends on the size of the cylinder, material type, number of coils & how much re-piping works.
