    Hello

Trying to plan hols for Oct-Nov 2014, but can’t find TCD Academic Year calendar for this period.
TCD Academic Year calendar for previous years shows last week in Oct as Teaching Week 6 (Monday, Public Holiday), next week as Teaching Week 7 - Study Week.

Does Study Week mean study at home, no lectures for first year student (Science or Math or NanoScience)?

    Thanks

It means catching up on course material and reading , usually there are no contact hours but sometimes there are . You might have tutorial questions , or lecturers may give assignments to do over that week depending on the course.

Best person to ask would be your Course demonstrator , or if you dont want to personally , ask your class rep to ask.

Reading Week is the 7th week of term (the 1st week immediately follows Freshers Week), and normally occurs the week after Halloween. Or at least it has for the past three years that I've been here.

There are no contact hours for those courses you've listed unless you have rescheduled lectures/tutorials which are rare unless a lecturer is sick.
