This is on the NTA website today: http://www.nationaltransport.ie/public-consultations/current/taxi-regulations/
The National Transport Authority (the “Authority”) proposes to make regulations under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013. The proposed regulations are available on the link below. Written submissions and observations can be submitted using the form below. All submissions must include the full name and address of the person making the submission and where relevant the name of the body or organisation represented. Closing date for all submissions in relation to all the relevant and supporting documents is Friday 31st January 2014 at 5:00pm.

If you don't like what they decide, then don't be giving out here if you didn't make a submission.

One particularly interesting point, which Galway drivers were in the media about last week is the proposed prohibition on advertising, which includes displaying the name of the companyou work for or any affiliations (eg Halio). I guess this would also include ads for the types of payment you accept (eg Visa).

IMHO not displaying the company name would be a bad step for lots of reasons - including the added difficulty of finding the cab you called as opposed to the first chancer who happened to be driving by.
