The Killaloe court sitting took place in the downstairs function room of the Brian Ború on the Hill pub in the town.
The sitting was held there due to the lack of a court in the town.

And people say the Irish Courts lack pragmatism.

Apparently this happens quite regularly in some districts.

The circuit assizes were regularly held in taverns etc. We're just copperfastening our own traditions.

I'd love to be in my local about 5 pints deep only for a full-blown trial to break out around me. The first thing you'd do is open a book.

Isn't that why we have The Deadmans Inn in Lucan and The Morgue in Templeogue Dublin. Both were used for Inquests

What are the chances that the Brian Boru pub is owned by the local Fianna Fail councillor...:P

Who also owns the local shop/hardware/undertaking business...
