I am applying to sit my driving test but bot sure what center to apply for. I live in rathgar but I know the pass rate there is awful (no idea why).

I will be looking to take a few brush up lessons in whatever area I apply to.

Any advice on which one to apply to?
    thanks!

Personally I think people put too much emphasis on the pass rates of different centres, it doesn't make a difference. All testers are trained to the same standard, I think the Dublin centres have lower pass rates due to the higher number of junctions, increased traffic, etc.

Just for comparison the current pass rates on the RSA website (2012) are:

    Finglas 45.50%
    Tallaght 43.29%
    Rathgar 43.23%
    Raheny 43.06%

As you can see Finglas has the highest pass rate but only by 2.21%, hardly significant. While the other centres are pretty much the same. I would recommend taking the test in the Rathgar centre since this is where you live. Local knowledge can go a long way in the test as you know what hazards to expect on different roads, allowing you to react in good time. Take some pretest lessons beforehand and you should be well prepared, good luck
