This blog post is currently going viral it would seem, and I'm sure a lot of you have read it. It's written by a young guy, 24 years old, about his run in with depression, and his suicide attempt.
I think it's it's a brilliantly written, raw, insightful piece andI say fair to him for putting his personal life out there in the hopes that his words might save others.
Fair play Garreth, hope you feel better soon!

It scares me how many people in Ireland are suffering from crippling depression.

At least people are finally starting to talk about it...fair play to that lad for being so open and honest, that can't have been easy.

Most people don't take mental health serious enough in this country esepcially younger people. Most people around this poor fella's age just laugh it off when someone they know is unhappy and that is adding to their problem big time. I was through something almost identical to the guy that wrote the blog so I know how it feels. When one of your friend's or family members doesn't seem themselves over a sustained period don't let it linger ask them if they're ok, and I mean really ask them it could save their life. When I was offered help for the first time over 2 years ago my life turned around dramatically, that was from one person actually genuinely asking how I was and helping me.
