Dying hair from blonde to brown

    Im my hair is bleached blonde/yello/orange- every colour really.

    I want to dye it back dark brown however i get so bored of brown so wanted to leave the ends the colour it currently is.

    Does anyone know if this would be doable to do at home? I know I won't be able to afford the hairdressers cause they cost a bomb :(

    Also if I were to dye my hair brown should I be dying it red first?
    In the past when I dyed my hair from blonde to brown the brown would work no problem but it would fade fairly quick and brassy tones would show through somewhat.

    Below is kinda the hair I want to achieve
