So I plan on travelling to Spain for a holiday with one of mates, we are travelling with and staying in the same hotel as one of my other friends and his parents. But we plan on getting our own room. we will be sixteen at the time of booking and seventeen when the time comes round. Anyone know the law or rules as to a minimum age to rent a room? Do ya have to be eighteen if not accompanied by an adult?

    Cheers lads.

If you mean booking a room then checking in yourself, that may be difficult as most hotels require a credit card on check-in. I'm sure if your friend's parents booked it though it wouldn't be a problem for you to simply stay in the room and pay for it.
As regards law or renting age, not familiar with that.

But his parent's will be checking in at the same time just in a different room, should that help?

Not unless they are will to let you use their credit card for a holding deposit

Without your own credit card it's nigh on impossible to book it.
Since you're too young to have a card I'd ask the friend's parents to book/pay and you just give them cash.
