    Hi,
Wondering if anyone has experience of the following: I had an abscess on my gum, above the rhf tooth - had it assessed by dentist before xmas. It was agreed that a root canal was in order.
I went yesterday to have the abscess drained and the first stage of root canal performed, all seemed to go to plan and the Dentist said he was happy with how it turned out, I am scheduled to return this Friday for completion of root canal.
Last night, after the root canal I noticed that the abscess has returned, is this to be expected or does it signify further problems?
    Thanks

Maybe just some residual infection, might need to be cleaned out again and dressed. Maybe ring the dentist and tell them so they know what they are doing at the next visit and are ready.

Hi, I had root canal treatment last October, however, it wasn't successful - I got infection in June, had abcess so had the root canal treatment redone in July. This wasn't a success either abcess is still there. Should I be getting refund on second root canal if it wasn't a success ie should I have been advised to go for extraction instead?
