Hi just a quick question i had water leaking out side the house from my gas boiler but the boiler worked heated the rads fine etc.

I decided to change the water relief valve as when i had someone out from the gas company they said the is what seemed to be the problem. When i went to buy the part and told them what i needed they said it was most likely the expansion vessel. So he gave me the number of a plumber he had a look at what was wrong and told me i needed an expansion vessel.

A price was agreed on he fitted it yesterday and fitted the new water relief valve and the heating fired up. But after a minute it knocked off and he could not get it to turn back on. When looking to see what was wrong he blew the main board on the heating. So today he has gotten a new board and fitted it the boiler now sounds like it is running the as you can hear the pump but it is not firing up.

My question is can he now charge more as it is taking a lot longer to do this job or does he have to stick to the price that was agreed on. It is not my fault he blew the board so i wont be paying for that but the time it will take to trouble shot this. Also what will happen if he cant get it up and running ?

Im not sure i am useing the person the gas and pluming parts suppliers recommended to sort out the problem. They have signs up in the shop that gas parts wont be sold to registered gas installers. So i would think he is.

If you know his name you can look for him on the Rgi site

I don't have his full name assuming he is should i have to pay for the extra time this is going to take to sort out he wont be back till tomorrow now. He said the gas was working but just not firing up and would have to get parts before he could look at it.

Sounds to me like he saw a handy few quid , made a balls of it and now Dsnt no what to do , what make and model is the boiler ?

And if he is at cause then you shouldn't have to pay extra

Some pcb's have an installation sequence that must be set to begin to operate properly.
What is the make & model of the boiler?

Its a lamborghini xilo t he has told me that it was his own fault about the pcb so their is a new one fitted now.

I just hope he can get it sorted tomorrow as the house is so cold with out the heating.
