Paying for a transcript

I need a transcript of my results to apply for a course at another institution. I notice on the NUIG site I am expected to pay for this which seems a bit silly considering that isn't a re-issue or anything. You would think that having spent the insane amount of money I have already done that I would be entitled to a single copy summary of my results at the end of it all? Is it normal not to be sent one of these out?

So we pay all this money to sit the exams, then have to pay to prove we did them?

€4 for one year's results and €10 for complete set of results. It's affordable but it's a ridiculous service to charge for. Ten euro for them to print a document out and stamp it. I understand why they might charge to issue replacements but this is just profiteering.

edit: just noticed here that it takes 10 days for them to issue the transcripts :pac: I know the printers in the college are a mess at the best of times but that is a joke

It's a rip-off for what it is but some places insist on official transcripts.

I'll never forget going over to them and explaining I needed them quite urgently. Some auld bag goes whining on about how busy they are (no one else in the place). Pretty sure she was busy painting her nails instead. Such a cushy job - not to mention they're closed for ages for lunch, open late and close early.
