Well, back in 2006 there were definitely direct trains Heuston - Limerick. Now I like trains. And I've been to Limerick, last time is September 2013, but not by train. However, I have been caught in that I've had to switch trains at Mallow. The wait at Mallow :(:mad::mad: especially in this weather - no thanks Iaranród Eireann. Any dice IE?

You have a 15.25, 16.25, 17.25 and 2 hourly service on Sundays and to Dublin you have 05.30, 06.40, 07.40 and 08.55 and 2 hourly service on Sundays.

It's faster to change at Limerick Junction as the direct Limerick trains usually serve all stations to Kildare/Newbridge to allow Cork have faster services and you benefit from the connection.

lol Limerick for Year of Culture it's being a roaring success so far, how much damage has being caused already, direct trains won't be needed!

First of all where are you coming from?

If you are going from Dublin to Limerick, then you go nowhere near Mallow.

There are three direct trains at 15:25, 16:25 and 17:25 from Heuston to Limerick.

Then every hour from 07:00 to 14:00, and at 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and 21:00 there is a train to Limerick Junction where there is a connection for Limerick. There is no "waiting around" as the connecting train will already be there.

    The full timetable is here:

I don't fancy listening to the fantastic blab of the other "beautiful people". Where am I coming from Corktina? A station that serves trains with First Class carriages and which still has it's roof. It's a privilege for Irish rail to carry the likes of me on the Limerick line.

As I've already posted - there is no waiting at Limerick Junction from Dublin as the connecting train to Limerick will already be there.

I don't think IE can necessarily be blamed for not having a gameplan for an event series which doesn't seem to have one itself.

Bus Éireann cannot be blamed either now that stop in Borris on Ossary is gone. Nothing personal against the place tho.

Limerick to Dublin via Limerick Junction is a lot quicker than it was a couple of years back too.

Why would they run direct services when the capacity and better times are already available on other services. I can't see lots flocking to the city apart form the local region tbh.

Corktina, tell me when Kent station has it's roof rebuilt so I can gracefully alight from First Class.

Again, have had no input into this thread other than thanking someone for posting the timetable, so I'm a bit perplexed why you keep mentioning me!

FYI Kent roof is fine on the main line platforms, it was just the suburban bay that had problems.

You can still alight from first class under the main canopy at Cork. Mind the gap.
