    hi,

there was a guy that was attacked in the city by a group of anti-social scumbags, the issue is they almost killed the guy.

he is getting mad to the point to where he is looking out his window for scum and any time he goes out he think the scum will get him...

the scum are in the bushes and are out to get him , and hes had enough of the scum attacking him.

what should he do to stop his fears from scum?
and should he wear protection to stop the scum?
    anything else?????

because he knows its getting pretty god dam stupid now, and don't want to face the scum, so hes isolating himself afraid of the scum, but he now knows he can't stop the scum BUT now needs to re create himself without messing up the rest of his life afraid of scum, so he wants to cut thinking of the scum out of his life.

you may say its insane, but if you were almost killed in public (minding your own business), and then almost killed by scumbags in an attack.

I know someone who endured a very bad assault and robbery in their own home. They are going to counselling and it is hard for them to leave the house. (The attacker grabbed them coming out of the house and pushed them back inside, the police still have not apprehended the bastard).

These feelings of paranoia aren't unusual after a bad assault. Would he think of taking self defense classes. Were the 'scumbags' known to him, did he go to the gardai? Perhaps your friend needs to go for some counselling to get over the incident.

Well hypothetically if it did reflect you, there would be no reason to be ashamed, any one can suffer a random assault.

I would get your friend down to the GP as a matter of urgency to arrange counselling for post traumatic stress.
    Best of luck.
