If anyone bites they will go bust?

Is BAI suddenly seeing reality (Politics, they always knew)?

Why spend money on a report? Why not just do it in house.

I have posted this in another forum than I copied it in here so here we go again for a second time!

This report is already way out of date when I am reading the executive summary already.

A question here for you folks!

How come the BAI ask the authors of that report to make substantial updates in real-time to the consultants of the report?

Or put that question in another way!

How come the BAI can simply waste time by providing their mediocre report they publish which costs a lot of taxpayers money by their own judgement or by the consultants themselves in which is specifically lacking a lot of detail about the commercial DTT TV market in Ireland?

Answer: Because the BAI in their own process is too lazy to do anything about it because they are pro-RTE fair and square. I feel Boxer have more scope to do a re-negotiation with BAI and Com-reg, as was quoted from their website, they have 600,000 subscribers while the BAI said in this report they had only 1.1 MILLION!!!!

That is a bit of a stark rise isn't it from the BAI's apparent opinion. I cannot consider BAI being correct with that point.

    http://www.boxer.se/om-boxer/foretagsinformation/in-english/

It also says at the bottom of page 15 of this BAI report by my understanding that the transmission costs for Saorview would be considerably reduced if Boxer or any other of the potential operators should decide to join Saorview at a cost of €450k for SD channels and €1 million for HD instead of currently €1 million for SD and €2.4 million for HD if no-one approaches the BAI with any new offers.

The BAI also do not have a technical clue in mentioning about distinct differences about both the UK Freesat and FTA Satellite offerings. The BAI should have known for ages that Freesat is available but not via a combi-box, it is available with a box on it's own with a satellite dish only and which is set by BBC and ITV. The alternative method is called FTA (Free to Air) Satellite which is available to everyone in Ireland but with both a dish AND a aerial.

RTE should have told them about this million of times but they have appeared to not say anything about it to them. The BAI should have got the basics of this report right by doing this report on their own because they should have said everything they had written in this report is probably flawed and not worth reading.

I don't think the are pro RTE, they are pro RTÉ, SKY, UPC, TV3 and any other vested interest. The want to keep the status quo and are afraid that they may of been taken to the EC by UPC and Sky! :(
