    Hi All,

I’m thinking about changing car and I’m wondering if it makes financial sense – I do a fair bit of mileage and I want to try ensure that I have a reliable, trouble free car. I’ve owned my current car for 3 years now and it’s been relatively trouble free (turbo was replaced under warranty at about 95,000km)…but recently a few little things have gone on it and I’m just wondering if it’s time to move it on before I start getting into constant repair bills!!

I currently have a 2008 Citroen C5 Dynamique 1.6HDI - 175,000km. Full service history with Citroen main dealer. Last service at 170,000km (timing belt and water pump also changed). No known mechanical issues with car at the moment – although I have noticed that the fuel economy has dropped slightly over the last 2/3 months and I can’t explain why!

I commute 1000km weekly to work. Average another 150km over the weekends.

Should I trade in now for a low mileage 2010/2011 Mondeo, Avensis, Insignia, C5, Mazda6, Accord or should I keep it? Is the Citroen worth in or around €7,500 to me as a trade in against a replacement?

Is it worth buying a new car with the mileage that I do or would I suffer too much on depreciation on it given the mileage that I’d have on it in 3 years time?

Would a 2011/2012 Renault Fluence be worth considering?? About 70% of my commute is on motorway – what are they like as a motorway cruiser??

    Thanks.
