Surprised there hasn't been a thread to this film yet.

Sadly not a film befitting a great man even though it has a two great performances from Idris Elba as Mandela and also Naomi Harris as Winnie Mandela, which would have made a great subject even in her own right. Some nice shot's of South Africa and doesn't back away from Mandela's flawed side as a human being with his treatment of his First wife.

The film's biggest flaw is it feels like a TV Movie of the week instead of a Film, if they got a Steve Mcqueen or Paul Greengrass to direct this and a more leaner and tighter script this film would have been a fitting tribute to a great man but sadly it drags and if it wasn't for the two leads then I don't think this would have seemed out of place on the True Movie channel as one of those Tv Movies.
