    Hi there,

I have about 25 old photographs over the years and want to make a timeline scrapbook type thing making one printed off photo and hanging it in my home.

I have a printer/scanner but doubt it will be that good resolution.

How would I get the photos onto computer , and then be able to put them photos where i want with captions etc and then be able to print off a large photo.

You could photograph them with a digital camera. Then you have a digital file to do what you want.

The scanner might not be that bad. it might even be good enough depending on the size of print.

Like PixbyJohn said. The camera is another option. Tricky to set up to avoid reflections, but does work.

    Yes good point.

I might see if the Photography shop will take my pictures and scan them to a good resolution and put them on a USB?

I could hopefully do up the pics on Photoshop and get him to print it off. 24inches by 10inches of a photo , large enough anyway.

Check the scanner settings. Most will let you scan in Photo mode to about 300dpi in *.tiff format.
Scan the photographs in colour even if they are B&W as this gives you a bit more playing field if you are going to do any restoration in Photoshop.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
