Have 3 or 4 cows here dry tubed and sealed since early december that are still dropping/leaking milk on the cubicles. Probably not calving for another 4/5 wks. Should I tube and seal them again? Afraid they'll come back in with high scc

What did you seal them with out of interest

Bit of a risk tubing them this soon to calving, obviously use short term tubes. I'd be afraid of them picking up something on the cubicles also, or spreading infection to others, I'd make sure the cubicles are cleaned and limed twice a day. I've afew milkers leaking here at the minute, however the bulk tank SCC has never ever been lower in winter months (200, usually struggle to keep it under 400 this time of the yr, but can head for 6/700!), I'll put most of the reduction down to keep the cubicles clean!

    Best sealer I would say.
Did you hold the base of the teat when sealing them?
Maybe put another sealer in them? And a milking cow tube?

Only liming the incalf hfrs cubicles here at the moment. Never lime the cows cubicles when they're dry, and don't want to start either, but I might have to!

Yeah, pinched the top of teat when sealing them. Will probably chance bovimast dry cow again, think it's only 28 day withdrawal

I have had plenty of cows leaking milk during dry period over the years, I don't do anything with them and never had a problem. The cow will be protected as long as the antibiotic is active for however if I had a doubt I would have no problem tubing again with a short acting dry cow tube and sealer.
