I downloaded pokerstove from a 3rd party file share site and it appears I ended up downloading at least one extra programme with it. When I boot up I get a message from “my PC backup” telling me to back up my files online. There is also a “MY PC BACKUP” shortcut on the besktop.
Neither Microsoft Windows Essentials or Malwarebytes pick this up when I scan for it.
How do I get rid of this programme correctly and make sure I didn’t download anything else.
    Thanks.

MSE and Malwarebytes don't detect it as its not considered malware, even though it behaves like it.

    Try this:

Have you removed it from Programs and Features ?

If Malwarebytes isn't detecting it then you very possibly have an option to uninstall it yourself. Bloat-ware rather than malware.

    Hi willietherock,

i would advice you to run a CC cleaner and after this superantispyware (both apps have free versions!!!)

Just google cc cleaner free download.
If you are not very computer handy just watch this video first.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOySsDcv8Yk

If you want to prevent issue like this in the future i would also advice you to download the Free winpatrol.
Winpatrol is a free application that lets you know when certain changes are made to your computer.

Also i would check if your antivirus client is updated. If you don t have one install one
google free antivirus and pick one from the list : if would advice avast or avira,

If you really wanna pump up your system security also install:
comodo free firewall and file hippo update checker.

    Outdated software is always risky

if you dont want to wast time installing all them apps go http://ninite.com/

This is a multiinstaller which allows you to install all them apps in one row
