    Hi all,

Hoping someone can be of assistance, I've done a Google search and can't seem to get anywhere.

Came home today, powered up the Mac and found that all the icons on the dock are completely scrambled.

Anyone know what the issue is?

I've rebooted a number of times, done a disk repair and found nothing.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    TB

Can you take a picture of the screen and post it up here ?
Also which model do you have ? CPU, Version of OS X etc.

Sounds a little vague, OP. What exactly do you mean by 'icons are scrambled'? You mean the icons have become blurry/pixelated? If that's the case you could try this...

    1. Put Launchpad in your Dock and make sure your Dock isn’t set to auto hide
    2. Open Launchpad
    3. Find the apps with blurry icons and drag them to the Launchpad icon in your Dock

Latest Mac Mini running OSx 10.9.1

Can't do screengrabs for some reason, I'm using a Windows based bluetooth KB so having difficulty with Print Screen function.

Some icons have returned once I open the programs, however Finder, Launchpad, Mission Control, Office etc are not showing. When I boot in safe mode the icons are all fine, so I think this should be an easy fix...

@ Passenger - tried moving apps from Launchpad but they get scrambled when in the dock

Were you using a system tweaker utility or something? I assume you have no backup to restore to?

Delete the com.apple.Dock folder in [Username] > Library > Caches. Then restart the Dock.

If that doesn’t work, delete com.apple.Dock.plist in [Username] > Library > Preferences.

And if that doesn’t work, you should probably consider downloading and installing the latest combo update.

Thanks Sad Professor - that worked an absolute treat!!

    Cheers!
