New Insignia vs. Current Focus

I recently paid off the loan on my first car a 06 Focus saloon with approx 145,000 km on it (1.6TDI) and I had been contemplating getting another car.

My price limit would be around the €15k mark but I had maintained that I'd look to get another car, if I got good value for my Focus on a trade in.

This weekend I spotted a nice looking 2010 insignia and test drove it, nice car, good suspension, 2.0L engine, cruise control, 6th gear for motorways etc. & 78,000km - All in all a very tidy car

However I'm unsure about the deal itself so I'm looking for some advice. The car is down as being €15,900, I was offered 6,500 for the focus which I think is quite good, so the dealer is looking for €9,400 for the Insignia but the following points stand out a bit

    - Despite being a 2010 registered car, the model of the insignia is a 2009, meaning the road tax will be slightly higher

    - This also means the engine isn't the eco engine (this doesn't bother me too much but if anybody knows whether it should or not, let me know

    - I'm not sure how well the Insignia will hold it's value well over the next 4 years or so

    - The car was used by the dealership as a rental while other cars were being repaired, meaning the miles on the clock were put on by a variety of drivers - should I be concerned about this?

I'm not sure if I'm being pedantic but I think the 2009 model aspect of the car should allow me to barter on the price somewhat more - I think if I got it down to €8,500 with a trade in then it's something I'd take, and I do believe that's achievable.

Would appreciate any input you could offer lads/ladies
