My parents wish to get Sky Multiroom and their existing customers.

They asked me if they get it are they tied in to paying €15 each month for 12 months.

Is there an installation charge aswell?

Generally there will be a charge for installing the multiroom. Sometimes they do have good offers such as a basic charge of maybe €30 but once they (Sky) are subsidising the installation cost together with providing a new box (it wont be a Sky+ box btw) then they will apply a 12 month contract. I think they will also only provide one cable but a few quid to the installer will get you both cables and thus allowing a Sky+ box to be used.

I seen Sky do an offer some time ago for free installation with basic box and sometimes if you ring and talk to them you might get some sort of a deal.

A good alternative would be to get a local installer to do this and your parents could pick up a good Sky+ HD box on Adverts for around 40 or 50 euros. Just ring Sky then and ask for a card or if they have an old card I think it can be activated again by contacting Sky. All this would avoid a 12 month contract.

Their not intrested in forking out €15 for multiroom and are interested in the freesat channels.

They also have an old SD Sky box which they could use.

I suppose they could get a Uk card from Ebay and pay a satellite installer to rig a cable into the bedroom without the need of a receiver.

With the old SD box they won't need a ftv card to clear the UK epg.

Well I thought and they thought there was a chance you could install the multiroom and the installation fee and pay for one or two months. Which obviously isnt the case.
