    Hi
I'm a very casual gamer who is thinking of buying a PS3 just to play GTAV. Spotted a 12GB version on Amazon for £134.99 new.

My question is whether the memory is big enough or not. Most likely I will lose interest in the console once I've finished GTA but there's also the chance I might get hooked and buy a couple more games. Am I wasting my time with this memory?

You'll be fine. If you get serious about gaming, you can upgrade it to a larger Hard Drive for about €100

The GTAV install is 13GB if I remember right, might be even more, so you'd be better off investing in one with a bigger hard drive from the get go, better to have the space and not need it than need it and not have it imo.

My brother got the 13gb and GTA, it took up all the memory and he couldn't save another game.

Grand. 500GB version is £200 including the game so I'll probably get that. Only an extra £20 than if I bought 12GB and game seperately.

    Thanks

Better off, I have the 150 gb one and you'd be surprised how quickly it adds up, some of the game installs are huge

I picked up a 12GB PS3 from Tesco for €80 and there were some shops selling some of the 80GB and 160GB slimline ones for €100 but none near. Bought a 500GB hard drive and carriage for less than €80s and have about 6 games waiting to download with PSPlus so looking forward to the next couple of days.

    This one here

Got some decent cheap stuff from Tesco from following it over the last week or so and saved about €6-800 based on the retail prices they had up but anything decent is probably all gone at this stage.

Someone said there was some 80GB with LBP in Bettystown yesterday but whether they're still there is debatable.

Maybe try looking on adverts.ie either for a second hand one.
You'd get some good value on some of them.

Its simple enough to get a cheap 2.5" hdd and stick it in, or you can delete the game installs after you've finished playing them if your sure you wont be going back to them any time soon. (thats what i did for a long while when i was too cheap to buy a bigger hdd and my 40gb was full :o )

Gamestop are selling the 12gb ps3 for €200 with a few old games i was going to pick it up but then i went for there other deal witch was the 500gb super-slim ps3 with an extra controller and gran turismo 5 academy edition for €269.99 i much rathered this deal as i am a huge gran turismo fan and after buying it i realized if i had of got the 12gb i would not of been happy as games run MUCH faster when you instal them which obviously the 12gb does not have much space for that plus i downloaded some ps1/ps2 classics from the store.

    P.S
There also doing a deal for €269.99 which is the 500gb with 5games the games are a bit old but still a good collection to get started with.
