    Hi,

I'm currently on the market for a new car, thinking about the Audi A4 1.9 or 2.0 2010 Diesel. I has a Passat 1.9, but the conrod went throught the block, needing a new engine. the engnie is a bxe engine, which I've now found out has a fault with the conrod.

I've decied to seel the car as is and am now in a position to by a nother car. I'm researching the Audi A4 at present, has anyone any tips on whether the A4 1.9 or 2.0 engines cause any problems. I've heard the use the same engines as the Passat and want to try and avoid having the same engine issues. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

A 2010 A4 will only have the 2.0 Common Rail engine.

Which is a good thing! You might see 2 litre engines listed in carzone as 1.9's because I think when you place the ad it asks for the engine size in cc. If you put in 1986cc or whatever it actually is, it puts 1.9 in the ad. You need to put 2000cc. So don't be too hung up on what the ad says.

a thing to watch out for in these is a noisy flywheel. It seems to be a common enough issue in these and is expensive to put right.
