Hi Folks, Can anyone tell me what was at the following co-ordinates 53.505941,-6.590338 Had a look on Archaeology.ie and cannot find anything? Any help would be great.

On the OSI 25" Historic map it looks like this: http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,693653,751574,7,9

It looks like a walled orchard,but that just may be scrub which has grown inside a rectangular enclosure or ruin?

Here's a link to the 'Down Survey Maps,1655-1658': http://downsurvey.tcd.ie/landowners.php#mc=53.505726,-6.585377&z=14

I can't see anything in the 'Down Survey Map' which can tell us what this rectangular feature is.You can also check out the Ordnance Survey map of 1890,and unfortunately,there's nothing obvious there either.
