Antifreeze Hydrometer

Father had a Glass Antifreeze Hydrometer that he had since he was an apprentice. It survived 40+ years of him using it, I put my hands on it and the glass just shattered.

Either there was a small crack in it or just me being heavy handed, it didn't last 30 seconds.

To cut a long story short, I am looking to replace it. I looked on line and all I see is tiny plastic ones that have questionable accuracy ratings.

Can anyone help me source one that's close as possible to the one I broke, without telling him im replacing it as he told me not to worry about it as he is retired but you know yourself...

Thanks Colm, the first few definitely look along the lines of the one he had. Wonder would those glass ones survive the trip from America. If they are anything like the one I broke the glass is paper thin. How he managed to keep it 40+ years is beyond me.

ask you local motor factor do they deal with a company called gordon equipment who sell a brand called DURITE. i know they have a glass one for battery acid, so might be worth a try.
