Hi all. I have applied for the Garda force 2014. I have probably no chance of actually getting accepted but on the off chance that I do I would appreciate a bit of advice.
What are the hours in Templemore for training purposes?
What are the rules regarding placement - do you have to be stationed a particular distance away from your homeplace?

I have a young family and would love to train for the force but as I live a distance away from Templemore I would like to know the circumstances of traineeship.

    Thanks in advance

If you don't have the inclination to do a search or read the stickies you really shouldn't be bothered applying as there is no spoon feeding in Templemore.

ALL your questions are answered in the first sticky btw.

Training hours in Templemore are Monday to Friday. You can leave after 5pm on Friday but must return by 23.30 on sunday night, unless you have special permission (young family) when you must be back in college by 0830 Monday morning. Normal weekly class hours are 9am to 5pm, but students are encouraged to use the college facilities after those times (Gym, Library, Swimming pool etc). There may also be group assignments to complete during these hours.

There's no need for that. If you don't want to answer the question then don't. No need to give the poster a load of grief

The awkward moment when the stickies are gone ...

    (No, seriously. They're actually gone)

In fairness they are fairly good with trainees that have young families and tend to look after them. Easy for me to say but don't let it stop you in deciding whether to go for it or not.. Best of luck with it.
