Really fancy the chances of make a track in the listed chase at thurles tomorrow (1.10). Won a big handicap off top weight at Limerick over Christmas. He is stepping up in grade here and meets a couple of useful horses in Rupert lamb and toner doudairies but he was mighty impressive last time and is improving over fences. Will be my only bet tomorrow. Currently 7/2

    Nice card at Thurles tomorrow.

Think Kerrieonvic looks a cert in the first for tomorrow, as form, is fit, narrowly beaten last time out, should love the muck.

Third race I got a bit of a tip for See Double You, told the horse has been targeting a race like this.

Urano very impressive there at thurles.
    Ruby looked fairly chipper afterwards.
It will be interesting to see what plans they have for this one.

Cloudy Rock well backed on BF in the past half-hour. Was 2.28 last time I looked, now 1.85. Looks like it's expected to do the biz!

Edit: Well, whoever backed that mule in to 4/5 didn't get much of a run for their money - beaten 3F out!

He is a pig of a thing they done well to find as bad a race as that today,I had a dece nt bet on Sizing Coal to beat them be surprised if either wins another race two useless things

I half got lucky today but still got cleanded out,I had a 100 on desertmore stream in the first today at 11/4 this morning well beaten fell at the last got my 100e back thought the luck was in,had the 100 on ruby in the next fell when cruising, then had a few hundred on Sizing to beat Urano well beaten 2nd,had 90 on tyners horse enright the clown gave it a disgraceful ride fell at the last should have bolted up,got my money back and had it on the two mares cloudy and lily waughe two rags.

That card was toxic in Thurles. The racing post put up a gamble in Wolv Outlaw something. Came in at 7-1. Didn't get to back it though but was well in when I checked. Those class 6 gambles where the horse is well in with. CD wins are definately to be followed. Irish racing is too nuts, especially the bad quality stuff. Need good Info.

I agree that Cloudy Rock was disappointing but she is hardly a mule. The main reason she was beaten was her jockey (J T Carroll ) really made an absolute meal of his job today. He got the early fractions all wrong in what was bottomless, tacky ground. She was a spend force turning for home 2f out.

Indeed the way the race was run played straight into the hands of the Mullin's mare who relished a quickening finish. Cloudy Rock could do no better than a well-beaten 7th and in the process you can be sure that a fair wedge of her value has been wiped out.

The winner is from the same family of Tiutchev and Rare Bob so she's no dray horse but it was a day to forget for connections of Cloudy Rock, especially as Sean O' Brien was so blatantly bullish about her chances beforehand.

That said, Cloudy Rock is worth another chance, she won a P2P at Kinsale by 15l and the second that day (Kilronan High) has won since at Avanue.

A different ride today would have seen her go much closer.

Went fast alright but if she was some machine she wouldve been able to keep up the gallop I wouldnt back it with robbed money again, that thing of Mullins is possibly the worse bumper horses in the yard shocking race.

SRFC do you think Urano is a pig because u backed sizing coal and he was stuffed.
Looked fairly good to me even if it wasn't the best race. Ruby looked fairly happy too. Don't talk through your wallet.

I would have said he is a bit of a pig the horse clearly has talent but when a horse finishes runner up 5 times and three of those are long odds on I'd avoid at all costs.

I stayed clear of cloudy rock as the price was crap (tissue 10/1 sporting life) how was it so short. Have to watch race later but sounds like she was rubbish.

Taking that price about a bumper horse which is unproven in heavy ground is stupid. Never listen to a trainer, unless he's talking about a proven handicapper that might bounce back to form.

I'd back a Mullinz bumper @ that price though:)

I was watching that race, mainly looking at that horse and the ride the jockey gave him seemed OK, what specifically was wrong with the ride, staying on the bridle too long or what?

Shocking ride done well to deck the horse, pulling a cart the whole way around and gets it into all sorts of trouble rather than keeping it simple and winning, wanted to play jockeys and im not pocket talking seen as I got my money back off it.

He was too cocky and instead of staying with the ones in front he let them get away then he had to unnecessarily bustle the horse along to try pick them up and inspite of the horse not hurdling fluently he seemed to ask for a big one that wasnt there. Bar that it was perfect.

When Cloudy Rock won its ptp it was good ground and she has a very good action. As pointed out the ground would be an issue but I think the jockey got caught up in the hype.Looking at the winner it looked unfit and would come on for the race and the markets spoke that way too.Mullins could be above average and O Briens will win on good ground.Im told Draper has a young horse"could be as good as Carvills Hill" owned by the Potts I dont know his name but may go straight for Maiden Hurdle.Keep eyes peeled .
