“In 2013, Russia has banned 165 batches of contaminated goods from entering the country. There were mainly used cars – 132, and spare parts for vehicles – 33,” the statement said"

    Full Story here, http://rt.com/news/japan-russia-fukushima-cars-201/

I presume the guys NCT'n the cars when they come in aren't checking for radiation here?

Do the cars come direct from Japan to Ireland? If so must be a few mutant Micra's for sale.

I wonder if the Russian version of SIMI managed to get this to happen

    It would be worth checking.

From what I've heard there's a little bit of an issue with the particulate filters in the air conditioning systems becoming quite 'hot' if they were driving around / near the contaminated area.

Usually with Russia there's some other issue goin' on. Haven't Japan and Russia been locked in a dispute over some disputed islands or other along their border?
Laughable really the Russians banning cars over radioactivity. So much of their country contaminated fomer old Soviet arms testing/production. Not to mention the dodgy nuclear plants and Chernoybyl next store in Ukraine.

Failed NCT on gamma emissions, nothing too serious. Have fail sheet to prove.
    Will fly through nct
No tyre kickers, test pilots and lonely boys looking for a chat
    Selling due to immigration
Will swap for a diesel estate

Time for the Japs to get serious.

Jap is a derogatory term - I dont think that it should be used here!

picture i have "borrowed" from a car i seen for sale on toyotaownersclub the other month. seems some Japanese exporters are approving cars or at least inspecting them before they leave. i believe by and large the Japs are an honest nation and couldn't see anyone legitimately trying to pass off a big batch of glowing cars.

I refer the Japanese as Japs the same way I refer myself (Irish) as a Paddy. Lets leave the political correctness BS over on After Hours. Now back on topic.

Are there many cars still made in Japan for the European market? Mazdas, Honda Accords, and Subarus must be about the lot? Anything else?

Toyota still export some stuff from Japan to Europe. Only a small percentage though.
