Have been looking on the interwebs but looks like nobody has compiled a list of places that don't have property tax

Nearby places I can think of are
    *Faroe Islands
    *Malta
    *Some regions of Italy
(correct me if I'm wrong please)

Really cant stand having to pay the government every year to hold onto the house that you supposedly own.

Anyone know of any good places to add to the list?

    You mean for homeowners only?

    Antarctica.
Though supply of properties is low.

Somalia has not had a government for years, so I doubt they have property tax.

You could also probably get away not paying it in:
    Syria
    South Sudan
    Central African Republic.

Its shítty thats its being foisted on people now in the middle of a recession just to shore up government coffers, but a property tax is a good idea in principle. It should have been around during the tiger years and it would have been one element which might have cooled the bubble abit. Also if people who can afford to build/buy 300/400k houses are asked to pay a few hundred a year in tax, maybe that would lessen the need to have such crazy levels of VAT/Excise and all other manner of stealth taxes that make this such a fúcking expensive country to live in.

Sadly the governments past and present created and maintained a policy of "life is better on the dole" if everyone paying the property tax defaulted on mortgages LPT etc they may get a better life, thats how it is for some in society, but thats all for another thread not this one

Wexford - if you live in a mobile home. No property taxes on mobile homes even though they share the same utility connections as a proper house.

You'll pay no tax in Somalia. Try that out and let us know how it is.

Build a house inside a commercial property. Set up a limited company, register it no where for the purpose of tax. Seems to work for every 24/7 call centre.
