I was trying to crop an image to 4090x4090 px as instructed here but i get the popup shown. Why will it not go bigger and what is a good resolution

What is the best way to crop to a desired size?

When i make it just a little less wide the height falls even though i do not choose it. Why are some photo bigger in MB if the same in pixel width/height?

    Thanks

It sounds like when your cropping the image you are maintaining the proportions that's why when you decrease the height it automatically does the same to the width.

If you want to keep the whole image and reduce the size use canvas size instead of crop. it will reduce the overall size (pixals) without cutting any of the photo.

If crop is what u want are you sure when your putting in the measurements you are putting the px after the number so it would be 4090px X 4090px.

    Just a few thoughts

the error message implies your dimesions in photoshop are set to cm, not pixels

    in preference change to pixels

    then try cropping
